The weirdest commercials i’ve seen in a while.

Gandhi promoting Dutch city Groningen, Darwin wants you to eat the Biscuits of Bolletje and Bob Ross tells you not to drink and drive.

The woodcutter (or in Dutch ‘t Houtzagertje’) is one of those Gems in Amsterdam Street Art. This tiny sculpture was placed by an unknown artist some years ago and can still be found up to this date. Another scuplture of this artist is the blue man with the violin. Also referred to as ‘the man that tries to catch tram 10’. There was some speculation that the artist might be Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, since it takes some influence to actually get the scupltures placed on these places. Nevertheless. No one knows.

Some additonal info (in Dutch)

One of the new stars in Amsterdam Street Art is Dode Wereld (Dead World). Here’s two more i made just around the corner of Thorbeckeplein.

the traffic sign states: you’re on the right track. good to know.

The Sauna Man
The Sauna Man is probably the best know and most talked about piece of street art in the Netherlands. It’s a figure that was placed above a steam channel of the Amsterdam metro system.  After a few days, various people had alarmed the police, thinking it was a real man, and the man was removed. After half a year at lost & found it went to auction and was bought for some odd 50 euro’s by a few people, who replaced it the same night. The sauna man has since, due to a lot of media attention, quickly become an icon of the city. Tourists still get distracted, which is fun to see, yet the Amsterdam natives have adopted the saunaman as a local.

but i do believe in you
this is the most appropriate approach for all banks, politicians, doctors when people have given up their faith in them. stop defending yourself. just say ‘but i do believe in you’ (and make it believable)
